Working with Wren is the first time I felt really listened to and seen as a whole person by my PCP. I’ve never had a doctor’s office offer accomodations for neurodivergent people in writing so I knew what I could ask for regarding my sensory needs, which was so helpful. I also haven’t had someone who took my insurance spend so much time with me both listening and asking questions to help get the big picture of my health. They were knowledgeable and affirming around all the different identities I have and communities I’m a part of, which made it so easy to talk about health concerns or questions I had related to those parts of my life. Thank you for doing the work you do! – SF
Wren is without a doubt an amazing, caring, inclusive, attentive, thorough, and great listener! Wren makes going to the Dr. a positive experience where you leave their office with hope in your heart. – MH
Wren took the time to really listen to my concern and collaborated with me on a plan of personalized action. That level of care and attentiveness is rare in healthcare, and it genuinely makes a difference. – LW
I can’t recommend Wren as a health provider enough! I started seeing them at a time when my mental and hormonal health were out of whack and were restricting me from participating in my day to day life as needed. Wren helped me find solutions to get my mind and body back on track and were attentive and thoughtful through the entire process. I’d never seen a healthcare specialist that seemed to consider my own neurodivergence or queerness in regards to my personal health and well-being, so seeing Wren was a refreshing first!
They are a great example of what an inclusive and accessible healthcare experience should look like, and how transformative it can be to feel heard and understood by a health professional. – RB
After 43 years of medical history, I feel seen, heard, and respected for the first time. My concerns were not only acknowledged, but they were taken seriously, an event rarely experienced for women, especially neurodivergent perimenopausal women. Great care was taken to investigate very real symptoms, rather than simply dismissing them. I trust that my health, comfort, and safety are a top priority when I am in Wren’s care because empathy and compassion were evident every step of the way. – SG
Wren was present and judgment-free, providing individualized, whole-person care. I finally felt like a patient, and not just a number. – SP
Partnering with Wren for my primary care was the first time I truly felt seen in a health care setting. As a person living in a larger body, medical appointments had always been stressful, and I often felt defined by my weight rather than cared for as a whole person. Wren’s Health at Every Size–aligned approach changed that experience entirely. I felt respected, supported, and met exactly where I was, with care focused on my health rather than my size. I highly recommend Wren as a primary care provider. – KH
Wren has been a fantastic fit for me as a PCP. They consistently affirm my autonomy and dignity as a patient, while providing me with all the information I need to make the right decisions for my health. They understand financial barriers to services, and strive to help me find the intersection of quality care and affordability. Receiving gender affirming care from a provider that actually cares about the issues I face has been healing for me. Their care for me individually as a patient, and for their community more broadly, is so felt. I cannot say enough good things about my experience having Wren as a PCP. – BB
Wren is one of the best practitioners in WNC. I came to them with a multitude of symptoms affecting my daily life, and Wren was able to prioritize and initiate testing to help us determine treatment. I love that Wren’s approach is inclusive, and this significantly reduced my anxiety. In fact, I looked forward to my appointments with them because I knew not only would I be listened to and validated, but a path forward would be given. – LW
After a lifetime of experiencing medical trauma at every care provider I tried, seeing Wren for primary care made figuring out my disabilities seem hopeful and healing. They care so deeply for making healthcare accessible to marginalized folks, as seen through their plentiful fidget toy collection, the option for a weighted lap blanket, and the resources shared for helping my family as we navigate homelessness. Wren sees the individual, the symptoms, the possibilities, and most importantly, they see their patients as vibrantly full humans. – ES
I stumbled across a post on my instagram from Patchwork Community Care and immediately said “omg that’s my doctor!”, Wren has genuinely been the best physician [assistant] I’ve ever had. They helped me get my diagnosis with autonomic dysfunction after fighting with my previous primary care provider for years. They’ve also never made me feel like I wasn’t believed when I would tell them about my ongoing symptoms which was always such a relief when I used to have to worry about reactions before I started seeing them. They’ve quite literally helped me change my life. They’re an amazing person and I’m so grateful that they’ve helped me get the answers I had to fight 4-5+ years for before going to them. I really hope they get the funding they deserve for their cause because I believe they’re going to continue to change lives.
Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me and helping me get answers when other physicians wouldn’t listen! It’s been a game changer! – SP
